labrinzia...
Things i'd like for people to know about me...
Love to play DID and role play games. The tighter the bondage the
better as far as I am concerned....I am facintated with Shibari...it
looks so beautiful, yet so strict!
About me: I am a Hydraulics Advisor; and am married to a wonderful man
named Tyler. He also frequents the chats on occasion.... his nick is
KodiakTyler which suits him quite well actually as he is a competitive
powerlifter.
My interests (besides bondage and chat of course) include: reading and
writing poetry, collecting antiques (especially vintage literature),
music of all kinds (except country), muscle cars (we have a '69
Barracuda 340s), powerlifting; pretty well anything to do with the
outdoors, gourmet cooking, my herb garden, and our baby... our 4 year
old purebred white persian "Zeus".

Subject: Rope Dying 101
Rope.....
Use either 1/4 or 3/16 braided nylon.
The Dying.....
Make sure the ends of the rope are melted to prevent unraveling during
the dying process. Place the rope in cold water to soak. Use a small
bucket or bowl large enough for the rope to be completely submerged.
This is an important step so the dye is absorbed correctly. You will
need a pan large enough to allow the rope to move freely. A canning pot
works great but anything that will hold at least three gallons of water
would be sufficient.
Fill the pan with approximately three gallons of water and allow to
heat on medium high....do not allow it to boil but bring it to a nice
simmer. Next in a small bowl mix one packet of Rit dye with 1 cup of
salt. Add warm water and make into a soupy mixture. Dissolve into the
heated water, stir thoroughly! Take the rope from the cold water and
place it all at once into the dye bath. STIR STIR STIR This allows for
the dye to be absorbed evenly.
Dying time depends upon the color you desire. Note that when the rope
is rinsed that the color will lighten. We do 30 minutes for colors such
as purple, royal blue, black and golden yellow.
Once the dying process in complete rinse the rope in warm water as to
not set creases. If the rope is rinsed in cold water the dye will 'set'
as is and where it is folded over itself will be darker than the rest.
Rinse until the water is clear. Place into a laundry bag and wash in in
the machine with a very scant amount of detergent. Unravel and line
dry.
After drying cut the rope into the lengths desired. Hang the pieces of
rope so that the ends hang down freely not touching one another. Place
something on the floor and dip approximately one inch into clear tool
dip. Once the tool dip sets the drip ends can be snipped with scissors.
